Theobromine is the chemical that is in chocolate that is so deadly to your dog. It will affect their central nervous system, which can sometimes result in epileptic seizures. They have to have a very high quantity in order for it to be lethal, but even a small amount can make them very sick. Different chocolates have different levels of theobromine per ounce.
