Most people hate iguanas simply because they are reptiles. They keep on thinking those reptiles are dangerous. However, there are some people who choose iguanas as their pets for them to give love and care. Green iguanas are the most common reptiles they usually bought. Iguanas are usually found in tropical places such as riverbanks, seashores and mountains.

The nose should be clean and free from any mucous of runny discharge. A healthy iguana has a clear and watery fluid discharge from their nostrils. Since iguanas don’t sweat, this is the way on how they regulate the salt balance of their body. When this watery fluids dries from its glass cage, it will forms into salt crystals. If you find out some damage in their nose, do not buy eat anymore.

An iguana’s jaw should look firm. Watch out for the signs of swelling or any kind of distortion. One of the iguana’s medical problems is metabolic bone disease that is cause by lacking of iron in their body. One of the sign of this disease is a soft and swollen jaw. Therefore, you have to check the jaw of the iguana before buying it. Even if iguanas look normal, you have to check the early symptom by applying the sight pressure of its jaw.

Although we know more about the care tips for the past few weeks, but still you have to check the characteristics of iguanas to assure the healthy one.

People choose iguanas because they are easy to maintain and serves as an attraction for the house as well. Iguanas are quite sensitive when it comes to health so you have to provide things necessary for the required such as cage, humidity, light, water and of course proper care.
