Some of you might recall a television commercial that aired some 30 years ago: A tourist placed his suitcase on an airline’s conveyor belt and watched it disappear behind fringed flaps. What he never saw was the 500 lb. gorilla behind the flaps who threw the suitcase around like a handball.

Sometime things happen and you need to leave right away. If you have pets, this can cause a major problem. What if no one is available to watch your pet? If you don’t want to leave you pet at a shady kennel where most dogs are kept in cages, you can simply take them with you; it’s easier than you would ever imagine. Most airlines allow pets.

A pet owner must research the many requirements before taking a dog on an airplane. Different airlines have slightly different regulations, but most airlines follow the same basic set of rules in regards to flying with a dog. One universal rule is that dogs cannot fly on a plane without the owner on board.
