Growing up on a farm back home in Portugal I was always exposed to many animals. We had chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs, cats and dogs. Now living in Canada I cannot have as many pets but I can still enjoy having some. I currently have two cats with five new acquisitions, a dog and a fish.

The have minimal maintenance needs but they satisfy any pet owner’s need to cuddle. Absolutely be concerned! Statistics show 98% of dogs will not eat cocoa mulch. However, is it worth the risk, to find out if your dog or cat is in the other 2%? This is especially true for puppies, as EVERYTHING, goes into their mouths! Death can occur in 12-24 hours. The sweet smell of chocolate; from the cocoa bean shells used in cocoa mulches attracts some dogs.

Anyone wanting a new kitten should be a cat lover. Let’s face it, folks, cats are just different from dogs. Cats do not usually perform any special tricks, and they certainly do not guard your possessions while you are away. In fact, the only thing you can be guaranteed of by having a cat is that a mouse won’t last long if they creep into your home.
