One thing is certain that if you ever bring home a new puppy or dog, it is bound to bite and nip at your fingertips for some time which can last a few days or some weeks. This behavior is normal and is not to be mistaken as an aggressive one. In any case, you would like to change this behavior. You shall need to make the dog understand that you, the "pack leader" is not comfortable with the biting behavior and the dog has to stop biting.

Puppies can make for wonderful pets, but just as with a child you must teach them certain things while they are still young. When you set good behavioral habits in them as puppies, you are teaching these habits to them for life because they will carry these good habits into adulthood. Biting is a common issue among puppies. They like to play and roughhouse and think biting is okay.

Why does the owner have to answer when his pet did something wrong? Clearly, the animal has his own instinct that dictated his own actions, right? Well, yes but this responsibility comes with ownership or adoption. In straight words, you have to stop dog biting by practicing responsible ownership.

Puppies have to learn at a very early age that they cannot put their teeth onto our skin, clothing or body in any way. This is called teaching them a ‘soft mouth’. Normally puppies learn to develop this soft mouth from their mother and siblings through feeding, play and mock fighting.
