The cheapest pet insurance plans typically cover accidents only (broken bones, lacerations and cuts, foreign object ingestion, poison). This is the most basic level of coverage and usually does not cover illnesses (such as diabetes, cancer, ear and skin infections) or preventative services (such as annual exams, booster shots, vaccines, spay/neuter).
