Separation causes suffering. And there is no further separation than death. I am so very sorry if you are going through this experience right now. I have been there. At some point in time, so many of us are going to go through this experience of death. We feel so low. We feel we cannot recover. We feel nothing can fill that hole in our heart. But we will. We can recover.

There is no right way or wrong way to reach out to your friend or relative who has lost a treasured family member from the animal kingdom. When an irreplaceable creature passes away or is otherwise lost altogether, there seems to be no salve that will soothe the heart of those affected. What we can do is offer our condolences and support.

The process of coping with pet death, the grief associated with the loss has been talked about for a very long time, we are all educated of the 5 or 7 stages of grief. And if you have not yet read up on it I would strongly recommend you do it now as it is very helpful for your own healing. What I would like to talk about is the benefits of using visualization while coping with the death of a pet.

Sometimes our inability to cope with the death of a pet is caused by our unwillingness to “release the relationship” and free ourselves of the pain. Why would we not want to release the relationship stems from various emotions, like guilt, anger, resentment which are all based in fear, basically the fear of moving on.

So many emotions come crashing in when a beloved furry friend dies.Feelings of denial, shock, loss, anger – and fear.A part of this fear is that if we stop crying we will forget our little friend.And, that is the last thing that we want to do.
