Many of the problems facing your dog and you stem from when he or she was a puppy. Is a German Shepherd right for you? How will you know unless you read the owner’s manual? Too many pets are brought back to animal shelters or worse, because of inexperience owners. Not just these type of dogs, but any pet. You need to know as much about that breed before you take them home. A former co-worker of mine decided to get a dog for their oldest son.

Your dog wants to be trained to be a well-behaved and well-mannered pooch. He will be much happier and much more content the better trained that he is. You will also enjoy him more. Dogs are pack animals and they receive pleasure from following the leader of the pack. You just need to make sure that the leader or the “alpha dog” is you.
